A historic, antique Transcontinental Telegraph Pole is in Camp Floyd State Park in Fairfield, Utah.  In 1861 Fairfield had a telegraph Station. The 1861 pole is from property of the Overland Telegraph Company in White Pine County, Nevada which in 1861 was part of the Utah Territory. It is is one of only 19 complete pole specimens still intact of the original 41,000 Telegraph Poles making it worth $15,000. Mr. Joseph Nardoni of Laguna Hills, California drove 1900 round trip to donate the pole.
